Book is the basic elements of the civilization. Since the old days books are used for collection of knowledge and significance of civilization. In simple meaning a books is a set of written and printed papers.
In broad term a books is a collection of written, printed, illustrated, or blank sheets, made of paper, parchment, or other various material, usually fastened together to hinge at one side. A single sheet within a book is called a leaf, and each side of a leaf is called a page.

A store where books are bought and sold is a bookstore or bookshop. Libraries are places where knowledge is stored in term of books which are given free of cost to readers.

In the early days of humanity nearly everything that could be written upon—stone, clay, tree bark, metal sheets—was used for writing. Alphabetic writing emerged in Egypt about 5,000 years ago.
